I Smell Death and Candy

I just got a load of this article from the Jerusalem Post, which details the Israeli right's reaction to what appears to be Arafat's impending death.

About a dozen Israeli far-right activists affiliated with the outlawed Kahane movement distributed candy flowers and wine to Jerusalem motorists at the entrance to the capital late Tuesday night in celebration over the impending death of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat.

"Such should be the fate of all the enemies of Israel," said self-declared Kahane spokesman Itamar Ben-Gvir.

I don't want to delve into the politics of the Middle East here, but just remember this next time you hear a hard-line Israel supporter trot out the line I've often heard where he says that the Israelis are the only reasonable ones involved in the conflict and that the Palestinians are bloodthirsty.
